Boost your Health, Energy and Well-Being!

Welcome from Dr Peter Holsman

Hi, my name is Dr Peter Holsman and, if you are visiting my site, it’s probably because you are looking for a more natural or holistic solution to a health problem or to maintaining vibrant health. And that’s exactly what my team and I do here at the Well Being Institute with a 100 percent natural approach using nutrition, counseling, lifestyle advice, vitamins, minerals and herbal medicines.

For many people the problem today is that medical care is now production line style and so many times you’ll be seen for a couple of minutes and given a prescription and told to come back if you don’t feel better in a week. That’s great if you’ve got something simple but often it needs time and talk to really get to the root cause of today’s health problems. If you’re not given that time and talk you kinda struggle on, trying to cope with what ails you but never getting on top of your problem.

The longer it drags on, the lower you go. You can get to the stage where just putting up with your problem or functioning at less than your full capacity is dragging you down. You lose interest in lots of things and that flame that used to burn so brightly in your life just isn’t there. You start to wonder whether you’ll ever find a solution to your problems, whether you’ll ever feel on top of things and live life to the full… whether life is worth living.

Over our time in this field we have seen literally hundreds of people with all sorts of problems… keeping up with the hectic pace of life, hormone imbalance such as menopause and PMS, digestive troubles including bloating and IBS, and weight management… and helped nearly all of them to bounce back to vibrant good health.

Understanding and working out what your body is telling us cannot be done in 5 minutes. Finding the cause and getting you back to great health takes a thorough assessment and is best done in a series of logical, understandable steps. Testing with appropriate conventional and in house medical tests will help us map out your individualised health recovery program.

So, if you like what you’ve read and would like to come and see one of us, the next step is simple

The sooner you phone, the quicker we can help you get back on the road to great health.

Menopause

June 30, 2011

by

Menopause is marked by the cessation of menstruation for 1 year. Menopause is generally a normal biological and physiological event that occurs in women at an average age of 50; it is considered premature if it occurs prior to age 40. This change is dependent on diminished oestrogen production and does not occur abruptly. The transitional time leading up to complete termination of menses is called perimenopause – this phase can last up to 4 years, and is characterised by irregular menstrual cycles and gradual increase of menopausal symptoms.

Which brings me to our special offer. Dalia and I would like to say “thank you” for your support over the last 12 months and have arranged for you to enjoy a complimentary main course up to the value of $30 at our favourite local Chinese restaurant.

One Way To Get Rid Of A Pain In The Neck!

June 30, 2011

by

There are lots of reasons a person can have a pain in the neck. Here is a dental example:

Some years ago I gave a presentation to a Chronic Fatigue Conference. Lots of questions followed, including several on silver coloured amalgam fillings.

One lady made an appointment to see me following the talk. She had chronic tension in her neck, right arm and shoulder for 9 months and wondered if a sensitive lower right tooth with a large, old mercury containing amalgam filling was responsible.

Can I drink too much water?

June 30, 2011

by

My recent article on the perils of not drinking enough water generated an avalanche of comments and questions. The most common question was “Can I drink too much water?”

Yes, it is possible to drink too much water. It is also possible to drink the right amount of water, but in the wrong way.

Let me explain.

What Your Body Wants To Tell You

June 30, 2011

by

An elderly lady with deteriorating kidney function tests was irritated by itchy skin and a dry mouth. Was there a connection and if so what could be done to help her?

Her skin looked very dry. I asked how much water she drank. Her answer was that she only drank tea as the taste of water was “horrible”.

I explained that lots of studies have shown that the kidneys need to be flushed with plenty of water to reduce the chances of kidney failure and symptoms such as itch due to an inability of damaged kidneys to flush out toxins.

Why You Might Like To Spice Up Your Diet

June 30, 2011

A moderate amount of spices cooked with your food can do wonders for your digestion. Lots of my clients have benefitted from adding spices to their food. Spices such as curries and ginger can be thought of as a wake up call to your gut. They stimulate the production of digestive enzymes and chemicals to help you more effectively digest your food. And they can certainly give your taste buds a treat.
